HADI (Human Assistance & Development International) has been registered since 1991 in the State of California as a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit public benefit, charitable, educational, and scientific organization (Tax ID # 95-4348674). HADI Relief, a subsidiary of HADI, is dedicated to providing humanitarian assistance and disaster relief to individuals, families, and communities in need. Our mission is to provide aid and assistance to those less fortunate, irrespective of race, religion, gender, or nationality. HADI Relief provides emergency relief and long-term development programs in countries around the world.

Daud Mohmand
Executive Director
Daud Mohmand is the Co-founder and Executive Director of HADI Relief, with over 15 years of expertise in the nonprofit sector and a proven track record of managing multi-million-dollar projects. Previously, he served as Director of Operations and Development at Muslim Aid USA, where he grew the organization from $4 million to $15 million in annual donations within three years. Prior to that, Daud was the Special Events and Project Manager at Islamic Relief USA, overseeing a $20-million annual campaign and managing large-scale national initiatives. His leadership and strategic vision have consistently driven growth and impact across his roles.
Mohammed Abdul Aleem

Mohammed Abdul Aleem is the Co-founder and CEO of Human Assistance & Development International (HADI), a nonprofit organization that launched one of the earliest and most influential online Islamic communities, IslamiCity.org, fostering global understanding since 1995. With over 30 years of experience in Information Technology, Aleem brings a wealth of expertise from his work in the aerospace industry and with Fortune 500 companies in Management Information Systems. His career reflects a unique blend of technical innovation and a commitment to cross-cultural dialogue and community development.
Dr. Rami Doueiri
Board Secretary
Dr. Rami Doueiri began his journey with HADI as a volunteer and later advanced to roles as Project Manager and Director of Donor Relations, where he developed educational programs for schools and managed operational activities. With 15 years of experience in biomedical research, he is currently the Lab Director at a biotech incubator, specializing in cancer biology, molecular virology, and vaccine development. Rami’s expertise bridges scientific innovation and impactful community engagement, underscoring his dedication to advancing both biomedical research and educational initiatives.
Dr. Dany Doueri
Board Treasurer
Dr. Dany Doueiri is a Professor of Arabic and Islamic Studies and an executive board member of the Center for Islamic and Middle Eastern Studies at California State University, San Bernardino. He earned his Ph.D. in Islamic Studies from UCLA. Dany is the Co-founder of IslamiCity, the world’s most visited Islamic website, and served as the technical editor of Quran For Dummies. An international consultant in teacher training, language program evaluation, and interfaith relations, he has received multiple awards for his excellence in teaching, leadership, and community service.
Munir Shaikh
Board Member
Munir Shaikh is the Vice President of Operations and Academic Affairs at Bayan Islamic Graduate School. Holding an M.A. in Islamic Studies from UCLA, he has completed advanced Arabic studies in Morocco and Egypt, with a specialization in Islamic Spain and the Mediterranean. Munir has taught courses on World History, the Middle East, and Islam in Southern California and has led professional development workshops for thousands of K-12 educators. He frequently lectures on Islamic civilization, art, and contemporary interfaith topics.
Amr Saemaldahr
Board Member
Amr Saemaldahr is the Chief Technology Officer and Co-founder of HADI, bringing over 30 years of experience in information technology and business development. Before co-founding HADI, he served as Vice President and MIS Director at Tredex California, where he led numerous technology initiatives. A visionary in digital applications, Amr was one of the first to design an intuitive graphical interface for the entire Quranic text in both Arabic and English, incorporating search functionality and audio recitation to enhance accessibility and engagement.

Matching Gifts
Many employers sponsor matching gift programs and will match any charitable contributions made by their employees. If your company is eligible, the impact of your gift to HADI may be doubled or possibly tripled! Some companies even match gifts made by retirees and/or spouses.
